TEMPO Interactive, Surakarta: The State Electricity Company (PLN) for Surakarta network service is providing soft loans amounting to Rp150 million with 3.5 percent interest to ten small trained enterprises under the partnership program (PKBL). This statement was made by Koesno, a PLN public relations official in Surakarta, to Tempo yesterday (12/8).The program was launched for the first time in 1994 and has already benefited 520 enterprises with total credit of Rp4.2 billion.The interest is not per year but for the period of the loan, explained Kusno. The annual interest for the two-year period of a loan is 1.75 percent per year.Enterprises can submit proposals to PLN Surakarta to access the loan, he said. The PKBL team will then verify the applicants proposal.Koesno continued that the program is the obligation of state owned enterprises as they have to set aside two percent of their net profit. Although PLN is not having profit, we are committed to continue the program, said Koesno.This year, PLN plans to distribute the loan twice for registered enterprises that have tax numbers.
